1. Who we are

Werkr ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at werkr.net, a free online toolkit providing browser-based utility tools for developers, designers, and general users.

2. Data we collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the website:

• Server logs: When you visit Werkr, Cloudflare's infrastructure automatically logs standard web server data including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and pages visited. This data is used for security monitoring and is not linked to a personal identity.
• Ad impression data: Google AdSense sets cookies and collects data to serve relevant advertisements. See the Advertising section for more detail.
• No account data: Werkr has no user registration system. We never collect your name, email address, or any other personal information unless you contact us directly.
• No file data: Files you process with any Werkr tool are handled entirely in your browser. We never receive, store, or have access to these files.

3. How your files are processed

This is the most important section for most users. Every tool on Werkr processes your files locally in your web browser using JavaScript and standard browser APIs, including:

• The File API and FileReader for reading local files
• The Canvas API for image processing (compression, resizing, conversion, cropping)
• PDF.js and pdf-lib for PDF manipulation (merging, splitting, converting)
• The Web Crypto API for cryptographic operations (hashing, JWT)
• Web Audio API for audio processing
• The HTML5 download attribute for saving processed files

At no point during normal tool operation are your files, images, PDFs, or any other content transmitted to Werkr's servers or any third-party server. Your data stays on your device.

Werkr also installs a service worker to enable offline functionality. This service worker caches the application code in your browser but never caches or stores your personal files.

4. Advertising and cookies

Werkr displays advertisements through Google AdSense to support the cost of running the service. Google AdSense uses cookies and similar technologies to show relevant ads based on your prior browsing activity and interests.

Specifically, Google may:

• Use cookies to track your visits to sites in the Google Display Network
• Use the DoubleClick cookie to serve interest-based ads
• Collect anonymized data about ad impressions and interactions

You can opt out of interest-based advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page. You can also use your browser's cookie settings to block or clear cookies.

Werkr itself does not set tracking cookies. The only cookies on the domain are those set by Google AdSense.

5. Third-party API calls

Some Werkr tools are inherently network-based and make outbound API requests when you use them. These tools include:

• DNS Lookup & DNS Propagation: Queries DNS resolvers with the domain name you enter
• SSL Certificate Checker: Retrieves TLS certificate information for the hostname you enter
• IP Address Lookup: Queries geolocation APIs with the IP address you enter
• WHOIS Lookup: Queries WHOIS databases for the domain you enter
• HTTP Headers Checker: Makes a request to the URL you enter to retrieve response headers
• Open Graph Preview: Fetches meta tags from the URL you enter

In each case, only the specific domain, IP address, or URL you explicitly type is transmitted. No other information is sent. These API calls go through Cloudflare Workers to avoid CORS issues; Cloudflare's privacy policy applies to this transit.

6. Analytics

Werkr uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-respecting analytics service that does not use cookies or fingerprint individual users. Cloudflare Web Analytics collects only aggregate traffic statistics: page views, referrers, and browser types. It does not track individual user sessions or create user profiles.

7. Data retention

Werkr does not store your files or personal data. Server access logs are retained by Cloudflare per their standard data retention policy. Ad interaction data is retained by Google per Google's data retention policies.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right to access: Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
• Right to erasure: Request deletion of personal data (note: Werkr holds very little personal data)
• Right to object: Object to processing of your personal data for advertising purposes
• Right to restrict: Request that we restrict processing of your data

9. Children

Werkr is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Werkr after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
